photo exhibition submissions…
i just submitted six photos to a local call for work. uhm. i haven’t submitted photos in a very very long time. these are the first digital ones i’ve ever submitted. i’ve had work in two juried shows before, and both times, i won prizes–1st places, and also, shockingly, a “best of show.” i’ll never forget the feeling i had when i walked in and saw that ribbon hanging on my photo. it was the coolest!
so. wish me luck 
here’s how sick i was yesterday
i am feeling better today. i went to work. but last night, when i went to set up the coffee maker for the morning, i realized:
oh my god! i never even had my coffee today!
you know i’m sick if i didn’t even have my coffee. geeze. i have antibiotics now, so i’m improving.
remember when
i said i was in really good voice? yeah. that. well, forget it. voice is shot from a week of coughing. really gone in the middle and high range. sigh…it’ll come back, but not likely in time for the rehearsals needed for this July’s concerts. but we shall see…remember when i lost it altogether? no speaking voice at all. not even a squeak possible then. back in grad school. i literally, had to WRITE to communicate. or IM instead of phone. yeah. that was AWFUL. what brought it back from the nodules that had formed then from coughing? silence. sheer silence.
so if i’m not calling, this is why. voice needs rest.
