day
for second day, colleague called in sick and left no plans whatsoever for her lessons.
no sub for her either.
it was 3 o’clock PM before i realized my morning coffee cup was still full.
talked with cousin K, sister of my cousin who died. beautiful conversation. cried.
off to record with the orchestra. all is well in the universe. i feel blessed.
tonight i am singing for Kim.

dragging
got up really late.
forgot to mention that the poet who wrote the words to one of the pieces we are singing flew in from California to listen and talk to us last night. that was neat.
also was asked to be on the board of directors. i think not. i did that several years ago, and it was disheartening and frustrating…

rehearsal
tonight was our last rehearsal before recording tomorrow and wednesday. i just love the maestro (composer of the pieces). he’s so personable and humble. and the music is just amazing. i have so much more to say, but very little time. i’m exhausted and i really need to be rested for tomorrow. he talked to us before we left tonight about how grateful he was to be doing this and how the piece that we commissioned from him last year brought him to places he didn’t know he could go. that’s the piece that’s made me love Walt Whitman. i had tears in my eyes when he was speaking about how much it means to him. we have to all pull it together. everyone’s tired but i know we’ll do it.
i’ll post videos and photos when i get time. now i have to sleep.
