well i had my 3rd observation last week and then the post meeting was today. she was very very kind. my boss told all of us newbies at the beginning of the year that she never gives out anything but proficient, never superior, to first year teachers so that any perfectionists among the group should understand that and not get upset.

so i wasn’t expecting superior. but she rated every area superior. she just loves me. we talked about plans for me for next year, and me being in charge of the electronic resources and instruction in that area. that pleases me for sure. i told her it’s been difficult for me to follow along with all these “research” projects planned years ago with teachers that i had nothing to do with. it’s become so boring for me.

after our meeting today i felt re-energized. she’s basically giving me permission to free myself from that other stuff. yeah. now getting that woman i work with not to freak out about it (she always thinks someone has it out for her) is another issue.

anyway. i am very happy with how things are going. i just wish this had been the place i’d been for the last two years, because this would then be my tenure year. i still have to go through this process for two more years.

hope my boss doesn’t retire before i get tenure.
